Summary

Reduce the current period of time needed to recover Internet number resources that are not being "properly utilized," as described in section 7.1 of the policy manual.

Currently, these resources are published for a period of 6 months.

This proposal seeks to reduce this period to 3 months.

Rationale (Describe the problem you intend to solve)

The current 6-month period has proven to be too long.

Before initiating the recovery process, both LACNIC and the NIRs strive to contact the organizations that are not making proper use of the resources they have been assigned/allocated, as described in section 7.1 of the current policy.

Therefore, considering both this 6-month period and the period of time elapsed before the process is initiated, the time allowed for contacting the organizations and waiting for them to rectify the situation is too long.

This proposal seeks to reduce the the period of time during which these resources are published from 6 to 3 months.
