Lacnic currently publishes information on the IP addresses it assigns, including, among others, the country to which each block was assigned. This information is available at ftp://ftp.lacnic.net/pub/stats/lacnic/delegated-lacnic-latest.
This proposal seeks to expand the information published by Lacnic in order to include the blocks reassigned by the organizations receiving the IP address blocks from Lacnic.
Many institutions take the file published at ftp://ftp.lacnic.net/pub/stats/lacnic/delegated-lacnic-latest and use it to geolocalize IP addresses, which results in localization faults when those IP addresses have been reassigned, for example, to a corporate subsidiary located in a different country. This problem occurs because this ftp file does not show the information corresponding to reassigned IP addresses.
